Korea Donates US$ 200,000 to Earthquake Victims

His Excellency Hye Min LEE, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of the Philippines, turned over US$200,000 worth of relief goods to Secretary Dinky Soliman of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City on 16 February 2012. 

The relief goods, coursed through the Korea International Cooperation Agency, are composed of 22,000 sets of ready-to-eat meals, 350 sets of tents, 2,853 pieces of water purification tablets, 950 pieces of water bottles, 140 pieces of radios, 500 pieces of towels and 900 pieces of paper cups. The goods, which arrived in Cebu City on February 17 and 18, shall be distributed to the earthquake victims in Negros Oriental.

Ambassador Lee expressed his deepest condolences to the victims, and hopes for their immediate recovery. He remarked that the Korean people will always be ready to help the Filipino people just as the latter have shown unwavering support during their country’s difficult times.
